I never met a trend that I couldn’t jump on long after everyone else had lost interest. But in this case it was mostly because… well, it took me a while to actually get this comic done.

For those of you not in the know, Petra Parker was a bit of a meme back in August 2026, which took the character of “Petra Parker” from the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and re-imagined her as a trans woman. Here, the TV Tropes page has more info and a couple of links.

I knew early on that wanted to do SOMETHING with the Petra Parker idea, and of course I had to tie it into my ongoing themes of mind control… and of course the Spider-Verse movies and comics. It was SUPPOSED to be a two-page gag comic, but of course since it’s me it ended up as five pages… and I went through both the Across the Spider-Verse movie and the Spider-Verse/Spider-Geddon comics to find more alternate Spideys to borrow and feminize. I even created a new villain, Dreamspinner… who may or may not end up in Project Eryss over time. I haven’t decided.

(Oh, and J. Jonah Jameson is a little overly oblivious in his cameo here, but then he is kinda characterized as such in the general meme comics, so I felt that was appropriate.)
