November is here, and I have a few new updates for y’all. Most importantly, there’s the new five-page comic The Amazing Lesbian Spider-Harem, which is my (much delayed and probably much too unorthodox and hypnofetishy) contribution to the “Petra Parker” meme comics that re-imagine Spider-Man as a trans woman, and that were were big on the Net back in August-September…
…but sadly, Petra Parker seems to have been pushed out by the far less interesting, far more conservative, and far less trans-positive “Malfoid” trend, which reimagines Draco Malfoy as a girl. Not a trans girl, mind, just a cis girl who’s a “bad rich girl” love interest for Harry Potter. JKR’s transphobia aside, the name “Malfoid” is also iffy, since it’s a play on “foid”, which is short for “femoid”. Which of course is derogatory “manosphere” slang for woman. So we’ve gone from a trans-positive and supportive exploration of a beloved character who remains an active hero after transitioning and who both deals with transphobia AND finds allies in unexpected places… to a bland schoolgirl love interest character, celebrated by misogynist incels, whose main character trait seems to be saying “Pottah”.
What bull. The annoying thing is that I created a female Draco Malfoy years ago, before JKR went all supervillain, for my Witching World AU. I named her “Dracaena” and had her as a “Daddy’s spoiled Princess” type character who was vell-versed in the art of passive-aggressiveness. But of course she wasn’t an ideal schoolgirl love interest, so nobody made a meme out of HER and started talking about how she “saved Harry Potter”.
But I digress.
My comic probably isn’t the most feminist thing ever either, since it has transformations and mind-controlled lesbian harems, but… at least it doesn’t include misogynistic slang.
There are also two blog posts. One where I talk about my recent dive into haremlit books, and why someone like me, who is absolutely not in the target audience for haremlit, end up enjoying the harem fantasies anyway… and one rather short review of the movie Coyote VS Acme. (Spoiler: I liked it.)
Hey… for once, an update without a single Project Eryss entry. Well, possibly. It’s POSSIBLE that I MAY use the villain from the Spider-Harem comic in Project Eryss, but I honestly haven’t decided yet.
