I love the current site design, but it seems to be a little slow… so I’m messing around a bit with optimizers and page caching to cut down on load times. Of course, an image-heavy site like mine probably won’t ever be the most lightning-quick site ever, but if I can get it up to a reasonable speed I’ll be satisfied…
I’m definitely rethinking the image galleries. You might notice that I haven’t put up anything for the single image galleries for some time, even though there’s been comics and blog posts. This is because I’m really not happy with the image galleries as they are… they don’t make it very easy to post new images and the viewing isn’t optimal. I’m definitely redesigning the galleries, it’s just taking a bit of time, in between everything else.
On a related note. I’m ALMOST done with the Lady Vidia and the Chosen One comic. Once again, all the finished parts are up on my Patreon, so Patrons can already read it… but for the rest of you, you’ll have to wait until the entire thing is done. It’s the longest Lady Vidia comic so far… 60+ panels divided between six oversized vertical-strip pages. I usually have a “max 8 panels per page” rule, but this comic has been all about trying something new, and one of the new things I’m trying is to make longer pages and really take advantage of the scrolling. Page 4 is the longest vertical strip I’ve ever done, with a whopping 19 panels!
…yeah, I don’t think this is going to be a habit, and for the future I’ll keep to more manageable page sizes but it was at least an interesting experiment.
