Profile
Kaya Swift is one of many younger Paragon Bay metahumans who got their powers thanks to the Blackstone Invasion. In Kaya’s case, a demon put a curse on her pregnant mother, Sadie, causing the baby to be born with monkey-like ears, prehensile feet, a furry tail… and superhuman strength, speed and ability.
It was almost inevitable that the monkey-girl who climbed all over everything and everyone, would grow up to join Paragon Bay’s super community; already at age sixteen she’d started putting on a leotard and was jumping and swinging through the concrete jungle of Paragon Bay, ready to help people in need and deliver a few well-deserved kicks to criminals and supervillains. Reasoning that there weren’t a lot of other jobs for a monkey-girl (and not really feeling like joining a circus or anything like that), she decided to apply for the CUMMING (City Utility Metahuman Maintenance INcome Grant) stipend and become an official, licensed superheroine.
When she was eighteen, the license was granted, and Monkaya moved into the HHN (Hero Housing Network) building known as “Aurora Roost”, together with a number of other junior heroes and heroines. She’s lived there ever since, and has become a well-known sight in the districts of Aurora and Mystic Grove. While she’s not seen as one of the major heroines of the city (let’s face it, a monkey-girl isn’t going to be taken very seriously), she nevertheless has a knack for making herself known… and for getting herself in and out of trouble.

Important Relationships
Sadie Swift:
Monkaya’s mother, who originally came from Cantena to study at Aurora University, and who was one of many students who got pregnant thanks to a university-wide orgy kickstarted by Purple Moth‘s hypnotic pheromones, and who later got cursed by a demon so her baby ended up with monkey-like traits. Despite the unorthodox start to motherhood, Sadie has always had a great relationship with her daughter and is even supportive of her superhero career.
The Familiar Four:
The Familiar Four are without a doubt the supers Monkaya is closest to. At a glance, she could even be mistaken for one of them with her animal ears and tail, but where they are all highly magical, Monkaya isn’t. Nevetheless, when Sadie Swift went into labour during the Blackstone Invasion, the Familiar Four were the ones who delivered the baby, and Magikitty was even the one who came up with the nickname “Monkaya”. Sadie and Monkaya were vital in helping the Familar Four handle their grief over White Sorceress‘s death, and are to date among the few non-magic-users with free access to Coven’s Refuge. The Familiar Four treat Monkaya like a kid sister or niece and often let her tag along with them even before she became an official superheroine.
Holly Blackthorne:
Monkaya got to know Holly, as well as her lovers Robyn and Harlan, through the White Coven. They have worked together on several cases, most notably the case with the Silent Choir,
Aurora Roost:
Monkaya is one of several supers living at Aurora Roost, an apartment building that houses rookie or low-level on the CUMMING stipend, who mainly operate in Aurora. She is close friends with several of the other tennants, such as Shortstack, Brassheart and Ragamuffin.
